J♥ showed me this house he saw over on Curbed SF and the first thing I thought was “It could be gorgeous, I want it!”. I have such plans for you…

& more!

All after pulling weeds, leveling the concrete and getting rid of a good chunk of it to put in grass of course. I haven’t seen the inside, but if it was even 70% to my liking I would scoop this place up in an instant. TL locale be damned. It’s got a yard, and as someone who grew up in So Cal with yards and pools and driveways the size of this “yard” excites me to no end.

To buy or not to buy? Little house, I have a feeling you will always be the one that got away.

Hooray it’s Monday!

“He was waiting for a long procession of protesters – both pro and anti-choice – to pass. Until then, he had no business as he couldn’t navigate his bike through the crowd.”

It’s a brand new week my fellow citizens and a second chance to make life absolutely amazing. Make it work. ♥

Things I ♥ Thursday

16 Jul

It’s Thursday! One day away from Friday, and a wonderful time to look back on the week and take note of things that made you happy, blew your mind or just made you fall in love.

I’ve decided I want to participate in “Things I Love Thursday”, starting now. I don’t know where on the internet it got its start, but I first saw it over on Gala Darling’s blog Icing. I always enjoy finding out what’s getting someone else through their days, what’s making them smile; It’s great inspiration and a fantastic reminder of how much awesomeness is all around us, everyday.

So, let’s get this thing started! Things I love Thursday: San Francisco…

strawberry-fields-forever

Premature hot SF days – riding bikes in short dresses with shorts underneath –
raw nut cheese from Rainbow – mellowness while walking through the TL – hours of Rock Band 2 – being the biggest video game nerd J♥ currently knows

Finding an excellent vegan berry colored lip gloss at Rainbow to replace my accidental animal tested purchase from a couple weeks ago

Peoples Donuts!Superfruit Punch Honest Ade from Tsunami Market (Turk and Larkin) – garments with feminine ruffles that move with the wind – the word Yumberry – the delicious smell of food from Kasa

This song: The Main Drag – A Jagged Gorgeous Winter

Lots of work at work – reworking the small apartment and finding new storage solutions – sleeping most excellently in crazy positions – cute delivery boys – lunch with Tony tomorrow to talk union matters & sunglasses on a sunny day (prescription! I can still see! yay!)

What are you absolutely in love with today?

Finds! – The Apartment

13 Jul

A few weeks ago J♥ and I stopped in The Apartment, two rooms full of quirky furniture and knick knacks on 18th street. If you are a reader of Apartment Therapy this gold mine of a shop is one you’re most likely familiar with.

There’s much to be admired at the little yellow shop, vintage letter lighting fixtures, deliciously modern side tables, and random tchotchkes to name a few, but J♥ and I rarely pick any of these up. Why? Our apartment is just too damned small (more on that later…). For us the joy of Apartment Therapy is in the small things, namely the wall of photos, and what a wall it is.

The photo wall is divided up into categories which makes browsing easy peasy. J♥ tends to gravitate towards the old school architecture photos, and me, I tend to spend my time looking for either ultra nerdy, weird or glamorous people in the african american box.

Some of our recent finds:

The women with the big smile in the center totally reminds me of my mom when she was younger and her family.

So darlin’, what’s your favorite shop to score random goodies?
