Back in April or May I mentioned that 1bog.org, a little organization dedicated to getting the equivalent of one block off the grid here in San Francisco, was having a logo contest. Well they chose a winner some weeks ago, and I was reminded by Sylvia in the comments that I forgot to share it with everyone.
They went with a shiny green design from Mick Hanks of Othoap Graphic Design. Congratulations sir!
I am personally not a big fan of it, but it must have fit what they were looking for, so hooray for that!

It’s SF Design Week!
It’s design week in San Francisco once again!
“San Francisco Mayor, Gavin Newsom, has once again declared June 15–22, 2008, as “Design Makes a Difference Week” in San Francisco. AIGA SF will be sponsoring a full week of events and an exhibit highlighting the diversity and professionalism of the design community.”
Check out SF Design Week to see if there is anything that tickles your fancy going on over the next 6 days. I wanted to go hear the designers speak Pecha Kucha (Pe-Cha Kah-Cha!) tonight, but the dreamboat informs me that we need to do laundry before he heads off to Louisiana , so it’s a no go for that. I will however go to the design film festival tomorrow. Yay!

1Bog.org needs a logo!
It’s cutting it close to the deadline I know, but there is a logo competition going on for a good cause here in our little city. 1BOG.org, an organization looking to get one block of San Francisco off the electrical grid, wants a logo for their website which will be launching soon. If your design chops are up to par, you should head on over to their website and check it out. Cut off is sometime before noon on the 15th I believe. I sent my submission in, so here’s to hoping!
BTW: Sorry for the long break! I was very ill, but now things are better and we are back in action!
